The American Hellenic Institute (AHI) is pleased to announce the establishment of the Foundation for Hellenic Studies in Washington, DC. Operating under the auspices of AHI the Foundation has as its main objective to provide support to qualified individuals, institutions, programs and projects advancing the study of Greece and Cyprus in the United States.
The Foundation intends to fill a void and support activities in areas crucial to the study of Greece and Cyprus. The creation of the Foundation was brought about by changes in the funding priorities of public and private institutions and the shift away from the study of the Hellenic world and the recognition of its contributions to Western civilization.

The Foundation programs will complement those of established organizations and institutions promoting the study of Greece and Cyprus in the United States, and will cooperate with such organizations and institutions to pursue common objectives. In particular they will provide:
