Alternate Foreign Minister Christos Rokofyllos on a working visit in Budapest for and at the Socialist International’s Presidium in Lisbon (20-22.1.2000)

Alternate Foreign Minister Christos Rokofyllos leaves for Portugal on Saturday 22.1.2000, to stand in for Prime Costas Simitis at the meeting of the Socialist International’s (SI) Presidium. The Greek Prime Minister is vice-president of the SI.

Earlier, on Thursday and Friday 20-21 January, the Alternate Foreign Minister will pay a visit to Bucharest for bilateral talks with the Hungarian Foreign Minister Mr Janos Martonyi, State Secretary Mr Janos Herman and European Integration State Secretary Mr Peter Gottfried. Mr Rokofyllos will also be received by the President of the Republic of Hungary, H.E. Arpad Goncz.

The leading issues on the agenda of the talks are bilateral relations, Hungary’s accession negociations to the EU and the situation in the Balkans.
