Currently we are involved in two new projects which are similar in style to the volume on the unification of The Dodecanese. The 50th anniversary of the implementation of the Marshall Plan in Greece lead to yet another research and publication project which is still underway. The goal is to relate the complexity of the economic rehabilitation effort and the impact of the Marshall Plan through the records of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Because Greece was in the midst of a civil war during the greater part of the Marshall aid program, the priorities for Greece differed from the needs of the other recipient nations.

A second publication project underway is a collection of major treaties and conventions which delineate the border evolution of the modern Greek state from 1830 to 1947. This project, based on primary and secondary sources, evaluates the historical circumstances under which these treaties where signed creating the borders and attributed territories of the modern Greek State.

The Service of Historical Archives, provides tutorial programs to students who work as trainees for one to four months and assist the Service in the process of cataloguing and computerizing documents. To date 60 students have been trained and offered their assistance to the Service on a 7 hour 5 day per week basis. These students have come from the faculties of History, Political Science and Law at the University of Athens. The student internships are funded by the European Union program (acronym in Greek E.P.E.A.E.K) for initial professional training. The management of the program is coordinated with the faculties of the school. The program will continue in 1999 and will include students from other Universities. The aim of our Service is to attract students from the Technological Educational Institutions of Athens, Departments of Conservation of Antiquities and Works of Arts and Library Science, as well as the Ionian (Corfu) University, Department of Archivists.
