Ερώτηση :  What are your impressions Sir, about the progress of the works that Greece has undertaken about the Olympics?

J. A. SAMARANCH : As you know we arrived yesterday and we will have the meetings beginning tomorrow and maybe after the meetings I will give you the right answer.

Ερώτηση :  You don’t have any information yet?

J. A. SAMARANCH : We have many information that things are working quite well but we will have during our meeting the official report of the organising Committee and I prefer to speak after receiving this report.

ΓΙΩΡΓΟΣ Α. ΠΑΠΑΝΔΡΕΟΥ : Εδώ είμαστε σε συνάντηση με τον κ. Σάμαρανκ για να οριστικοποιήσουμε τα σχέδιά μας για τη δημιουργία του Ιδρύματος για την Ολυμπιακή Εκεχειρία. Είναι ένας θεσμός που θα έχει ιδιαίτερη σημασία παγκοσμίως αλλά και ιδιαίτερα για την περιοχή μας και πιστεύουμε ότι και με το κλίμα το οποίο προωθεί η Ελλάδα, της ειρήνης στα Βαλκάνια, θα συμβάλλει ουσιαστικά για την αξιοποίηση του νέου θεσμού της Ολυμπιακής Εκεχειρίας και για το 2000 στο Σίδνεϊ αλλά και στο Salt Lake City το 2002 αλλά βεβαίως για τους Ολυμπιακούς αγώνες στην Αθήνα το 2004. Ίσως και να θέλει να πει κάτι ο κ. Σάμαρανκ γι’ αυτό το θεσμό.

Ερώτηση :  About the project you have with Mr Papandreou, the Olympic Truce?

J. A. SAMARANCH : The Olympic Truce I think is a very good idea, we are working with Minister Papandreou for a long time, we seem that today during my stay in Athens we will sign the final agreement and this Olympic Truce will be implemented once again during the Sydney Olympics next year.
