Latomos Monastery
An early Christian church, built during the late of the 5th, or the beginning of the 6th century. It was the Katholikon (the main church) of the Latomos monastery. Its splendid mosaics portraying "the glory of the Lord" or the "vision of Ezekiel" are discovered in 1921. Located at Ano Poli (Upper Town)
Church of Aghia Ekaterini
Built in 13th century, with a beautifully preserved exterior and some fragments of frescoes. Located at Ano Poli (Upper City).
Church of Aghioi Apostoloi
A complex cross-in-square type church. It was the catholicon (main church) of a monastery, founded in 1310-1314. The interior decoration is a combination of mosaics and wall paintings. Located near Plateia Vardariou (Liberation square). (

Church of Aghios Nicolaos Orfanos
The church was the catholicon (main church) of a monastery founded in early 14th century A.D. The decoration was completed between 1310-1320 and it contains superb frescoes. Located near Kallitheas square in Ano Poli (Upper City)
Church of Phrophetes Elias
Built in 1360 by the monk Makarios Houmnos, on the foundations of a Byzantine palace. The church is triconch in plan covered with a dome. Located at Ano Poli. ( 273790)
