   Ministry of Mercantile Marine Objectives for Further Development of    Hellenic Shipping

The Ministry of Mercantile Marine seeks to support shipping setting out the following objectives on a national and international level:

Eliminate protectionism measures internationally, and establish a free and fair practice environment favourable to world shipping and trade development.

Increase ships' safety and marine environment protection standards

Attract young people to take up a career at sea and man Hellenic ships with increasing numbers of Hellenic officers.

Further training and improvement of standards of seafarers.

Attract more Hellenic owned ships to the Hellenic flag.

Hellenic ports' infrasrtucture improvement and modernisation.
