Santorini is an island with great tourist growth. At the picturesque cafe-bars of the island, one can enjoy a cup of coffee along with the famous local "amigdalota"(almond candy) or have a drink in the afternoon or evening. In Fira, there is the cafe "Rastoni", or "Eternity" and "Aman" with their famous cheese-pies and spinach-pies, while in Kaldera at "Palia Kameni", coffee and the famous rum in a watermelon are served. One can also spend the afternoon admiring the sunset from "Kouros" in Oia, or at "Yazz" in Perissa.
In Santorini, there is a great number of taverns and restaurants that can satisfy all gastronomic appetites, but their menus also include traditional delicacies, such as the famous "pseftokeftedes"(a kind of meatballs made of flour, tomato juice, onion, mint and vegetables). At the picturesque beaches of the island, there are small tavernas offering good food and excellent local wine, such as the famous "Mitsos" in Ammoudi or "Ta Kavourakia" in Perivolos.
In beautiful Perissa there are "Nikola's Tavern", "Koutouki","Selini","Sphinx", which offers international cuisine, "Archipelagos","Alexandria", the social "1800", "Koralli", with tasty sea-food snacks and "Delphi Garden".
In Fira, with its vivid nightlife, there is the bar-restaurant "Meridiana" and "Aktaion" where the view is breathtaking. In picturesque Oia, there are the famous "Koukoumavlos" and the ouzo-shop "Lotza" with its excellent ouzo-snacks, while for those who prefer international cuisine there is "Mama Africa" with oriental and mexican dishes.
A stroll along Monolithos could be combined with a meal at the restaurant "Domata" later, while at traditional "Marino" in Imerovigli, local homemade delicacies are served. In the village Megalohori, at the hotel "Vedema",there is a restaurant in a marvellous environment with an obvious local touch, and in "Finikia", at the village bearing the same name, one can taste excellent local specialties.
To conclude, the fascinating Akrotiri merits a visit, where at the taverna "Antoni tou psara" a selection of sea-food snacks is served. Messaria is worth visiting too, and one can eat at the picturesque taverna "Kallisti" or at "Taverna tou Kritikou" in Vothonas.
