The Church of Agios Georgios is one of the most significant sights of the small settlement of Pano Koufonissi. Built in classical Cycladic style, the gleaming white church with the big blue dome and small bell tower is housed in a forecourt where the locals gather to hear mass. On its feast day there is a procession of the icon along the waterfront, while fireworks are set off.
