Karpathos, the traditional village of Olimbos, is famous for the tasty "makarounes", made from local "triftouni" (thin cut dough) as well as for their cookies, cheese and top quality oil. At the local pastry shops, one can taste the local sweet "backlavas". At the folk art stores, there are beautiful traditional hand woven fabric.
