  • [01] "ENEMY OF PEOPLE" CELEBRATES 20-TH ANNIVERSARY OF HIS ARREST

TIRANA, NOV 8 (ATA) By I. Manka:

The citizens of Lushnja (Middle Albania) still remember the day when a 14-year old boy was arrested as "enemy of people".

Twenty years ago, at the school where the boy Artur Kice attended the lessons, the car of Lushnja former Sigurimi arrived.

Sigurimi officials took him from school and sent to the dark cells of the interior branch of the city. For six months he was squatted into loneliness and coldness, far from games and dreams.

The Attorney General requested for Kice 6 months in jail, which are considered as unique case in the communist East. They imprisoned and declared him "enemy of people", claiming that he had written tracts against the state.

Artur Kice, now 34 years old, assistant judge in Lushnja Court, commemorated among friends the 20-th anniversary of his arrest from dictatorship. /s.sh/jz/mt/k
