[01] ALBANIAN PRESIDENT NOMINATES GOVERNMENT OF NATIONAL CONCILIATION

On this occasion, Premier Fino said that the composition of this government is the result of intensive consults he held with the political forces, signers of the Agreement of National Reconciliation.

President Berisha hailed Premier Fino and his government for the duty they are taking in a difficult period for the country, and guaranteed that they will have his complete support and of all the political forces who signed the platform of the National Reconciliation, as a real chance for the democracy, as a real chance for Albania and Albanians, they will have the support of all Albanians, the support of friendly country, of friendly countries of the European Union, and neighbouring countries.

After the approval of the law on amnesty, the establishment of the Government of National Reconciliation is another important act for Albania and Albanians in the realization of the National Reconciliation Agreement.

President Berisha, after knowing the composition of the new government, said that the broad-based government is a powerful ground that this government, although in a short time, will fulfill important tasks. I notice gladly, said Berisha, that this government is made up of outstanding individuals who have given a great contribution in the democratic processes and developments.

Wishing for the new task, President Berisha stressed that the Government of National Reconciliation would have my powerful support.

[03] ALBANIAN PREMIER MEETS AMBASSADORS

Albanian Premier informed the ambassadors on his consults with the political forces and the recent developments in the country.

The ambassadors expressed the support of the government of their countries for the agreement reached among the political forces. /kei/mt/k

[04] DEPOTS STORMED IN SHKODER - four killed by the uncontrolled gunshots -

Hundreds of citizens from Shkoder and nearby villages stormed Wednesday night several depots, looting large quantities of ammunition. The gunshots did not stop during all the night.

Four people have lost their lives and more than 10 others were injured by the uncontrolled use of weapons, reports the hospital of the city.

The situation seems calmer today. /jz/mt/k

[05] STATEMENT OF THE COMMITTEE OF NATIONAL SALVATION

In the conditions of the national denigration where set political forces and other segments in service of foreign intelligence agencies led Albania, in the conditions when the state segments do not function, in the conditions when destructive forces in Albania and abroad aim at regional separation and cutting up the country, in the conditions where the life of citizens is in danger, we declare: the establishment of the Committee of National Salvation.

This committee aims to restore the constitutional order and rule of law, the protection of democracy, its institutions and our national integrity.

The committee is seat in Tirana and has actually its branches in the whole Northern part of Albania. We have in our program:

1. The salvation of Albania from separation and disintegration. For us Albania is one as a whole, from Konispol to Vermosh. Every part of it is holy for us and we will protect it with our lives.
2. The military committee established in several southern districts is considered by us a dangerous precedent which leads to the separation of Albania and regional war, in ruining democracy, pluralism, rule of law, in the moral and national capitulation opposite to the irresistible selfishness of the anti national and anti democratic clans in the country.
3. We are ready for any talks with the Southern committee only as a party without the mediation of the state.
4. We considered failed and responsible for the situation in the country the political class in Albania. This class did not rise above the provincialism of rebel crowds in South, leading the country to a dead-lock. The delayed compromise of the political parties is in danger exactly by the ill will of some of them.
5. We call on the political parties to rise upon the ideological interests and political profits because they will be judged without mercy by the today and other generations of Albania for the tragedy to the Albanian nation.
6. We support the government of Fino established on the basis of the platform of national reconciliation and support by all means its efforts for the maintenance of order, tranquillity, to stop the violence and terror in the country.
7. Any offensive and armed resistance against us will be punished on the basis of laws of war, as well as any other anti popular and anti national act of our acts will be condemned by these laws.
8. We call on our brothers, the Southern Albanians, all the democrats and patriots of this side of Albania to support our efforts for the protection of the freedom, the independence and the national integrity, for the protection of democracy and the Constitutional Order.
9. We call on the outstanding Albanians wherever they live in the world to come in Albania and help for the normalization of the situation.
10. We call on all officers, reservists and military of every level to go under arms for the national rescue, to obey to the military discipline and its rules.
11. We call on Albanian people to protect the Albanian integrity in every corner from South to North, to protect the peace and nation's honour.

[06] ARMS DEPOTS IN KORCE AND LEZHE ATTACKED

There have been bolley of bullets during all the night.

There have been stolen some stores.

According to reports of the city hospital, there have been killed two persons and two others were wounded.

Military reparts in the North-West Lezha, suborbs, were attacked Wednesday too, the Albanian Television reports. There are no reports on victims.

[07] MILITARY UNIT IN SURBURBS OF BURREL LOOTED

The situation in the town of Burrel have been chaotic on Wednesday. Hundreds of people from the town and nearby villages stormed at midday the military unit in suburbs of the town, looting different kinds of weapons and ammunition. The military forces were not able to face them.

The robbery has continued for 3 hours. The crowds of people stormed the af filiate of Vefa company, looting the warehouses and ist other grounds completely.

"Mati" hotel, the warehouse of a private owner, a kinder garden were also looted.

Sources from the hospital of the town confirm that 3 people are slightly injured by weapons.

Meanwhile, armed people from different ages move through the city and fires into air are heard. /a.ke/kei/mt/k

[11] PRESS RELEASE

They discussed the grave and dramatic situation in the country and a request for assistance by the Western European Union and NATO, so that to prevent a civil conflict on broad scale and for a special treatment through salaries and legal status of all those policemen who will be engaged in the restitution of the constitutional order.

They agreed that all necessary measures must be taken in this direction.
