  • [01] Kosova refugees keep arriving in Has

    HAS, Oct 4 (ATA)-By R. Hoxha,

Rainy weather and the intensity of fighting near the Albania- Yugoslavia border have increased the number of the Kosova refugees in the district of Has.

"The number of the Kosova refugees in this district last week amounted to over 250," said the coordinator of the refugee office for the district of Kukes and Has, Jonuz Kola.

Since June, when the Serb military and police machine started offensive in Kosova, over 3000 Kosovars have arrived in the Has district. Some 900 refugees have stayed here, the others have not enrolled at the respective office as they have left for other areas of the country, says Kola.

Meanwhile, the United Nations High Commission for Refugees and the Red Cross keep supplying the refugees with food and other supplies.

However, the mounting number of refugees in this district requires measures to increase aid in this area, Kola concludes. /dast/lm/
