[03] Albanian producers of sausages risk to go bankrupt

TIRANE, Oct.31 (ata) - By E Xhajanka: The Albanian Meat Processing Association launched today the alarm that there is an influx of imported sausages in the local market, mostly with beautiful etiquettes, but made with low quality raw material which have been stored for two or more years in some states.

The smuggling of these kinds of sausages, according to the leaders of the Association, makes impossible the control of the quality of these products. As a result, the consumers are completely unprotected in face of these products, which are also really threatening the local industry for the production of sausages to go bankrupt.

The Albanian private producers of sausages, who have now their guaranteed trademarks for the production of sausages, which are subjected to regular control in specialized laboratories, have demanded protection by the state and its intervention to prevent the import of uncontrolled sausages. /xh/
