[02] Number of private sector employees increased

VLORE, Oct 10 (ATA)- By Harilla Koci, The number of the employed in private subjects of Vlore district has been increased, surpassing the general number of the the employees in state sector, sources from the work office told ATA on Sunday.

In the private sector, currently, work 8 775 employees (a number which is thought to be even higher), out of 7 457 who are payed by the state budget.

The change of the ratio has come about as the result of several factors, of which the main ones are the expansion of the privatization and activity of private subjects and the increase of the number of juridical subjects.

Following the employment policy applied by the government through the Ministry of Work and Social Affairs, the employment office of Vlore is currently applying the Programme of Employment Encouraging. This programme has been applied in 10 subjects up to now, with a fund of 9.3 million leks, employing about 220 persons. Meanwhile, the documentation for other 8 subjects is being prepared , where are thought to be employed around 120 persons. /led/so/

[03] Police employees do not count on justice system

BERAT, Oct 10 (ATA)- By Ilir Manka, At least 70 % of police employees in Berat prefecture do not rely on the justice system. A questionnaire conducted by non governmental associations in different periods of the last six months has shown that judges' and prosecutors' credibility oscillates from 50 % to 70 %.

Some 89 policemen and officers out of 107 participants in the questionnaire, expressed with certainty that facts and evidence get manipulated after prosecutor-judge-lawyer trinomial, giving way to opinions they share the money taken from the "client" sued in court.

The non credibility of judiciary organs has been increasing since 1997's unrest. Meanwhile, the lack of punishments is motivated by the lack of legal evidence and arguments to prove defendants guilty. /led/gs/so/

[05] The blocking of Drino river bed can cause floods in winter

GJIROKASTER, Oct. 10 (ATA) - By H. Çani: The pouring of soils dug away from the constructive companies to the river of Drino, Gjirokaster, creates premises for the overflow of the electric substation and a part of the national road in the southern Albania.

According to the sources of Gjirokaster electric station the Drino is blocked completely only 500 meters away and as the winter is drawing closer its water will come out into the national road and in the electric substation due to the rain.

The leaders of this station demand the adoption of emergent measures to halt the pouring of construction materials and soils in the Drino river.

On its side, the town-hall has informed all the construction companies on the situation and in some cases it fined the construction companies but since a town-hall police is out of function, there are not many chances for the normalization of situation.

The river Drino is situated in the southern Albania and is 84.6 kilometers long.

The flood of Gjirokaster electric substation last year brought about several problems on provision of Gjirokaster city with electric energy. /dast/A.A/
