Prime Minister Mugur Isarescu conducted an inquiry into the activity of several departments of the General Secretariate of the Romanian Cabinet and the department of special communications which concluded in reprimands and fees. The Prime Minister reached the conclusion that the lists of annexes of Ordinance 95 with companies that may be exempted from taxes and may benefit of compensated debts to the state as they deliver goods and products to the national defense industry and for national security were wrongly compiled. Although the lists were remade at the request of the Prime Minister the initial ones had already been released by MONITORUL OFICIAL. As a consequence the General Secretariate of the Government of Romania was reprimanded publicly, the Secretary General of the Government and his deputy were penalized for lack of exigency and firmness in analyzing the ordinance.
