 PNL - the National Liberal Party -enjoys the support of the Free Liberal Democratic Party of GermanyThe German liberals are granting support to the Romanian liberals as they believe that the Romanian National Liberal Party has the clearest intentions on the road of European integration. As part of a press conference which took place yesterday the president of the Free Liberal Democratic Party of Germany, who made a visit to Romania on the occasion of the official launching of the candidacy of Theodor Stolojan on behalf of the National Liberal Party to the office of President of Romania, Mr. Wolfgang Gerhardt said that the German Liberals are happy that they have a powerful partner in Romania, the National Liberal Party.
He added that Romania was playing a very constructive and important role in maintaining stability in the area. Also present at the conference with the media were Valeriu Stoica who is the first vicepresident of the National Liberal Party and the PNL candidate to the office of President of Romania, Theodor Stolojan.
 The Romanian Prime Minister Mugur Isarescu visits Prague, the Czech RepublicMugur Isarescu has been visiting Prague at the invitation of his Czech opposite number Milos Zeman. The Romanian Prime Minister was also received by the President of the host country Vaclav Havel and by the chairwoman of the Czech Senate, Mrs. Libus Benesova. At the end of the visit to Prague, just before leaving for home, the Romanian Prime Minister has a press conference in the building of RADIO FREE EUROPE.
 Romanian - Yugoslav contactsThe Romanian charge d'affaires to Belgrade Gabriel Branzaru was received by the new president of Yugoslavia, Vojislav Kostunica, on the occasion of the ceremony of investure of the new Yugoslav Head of State. Br. Branzaru transmitted to the Mr. Kostunica congratulations from the President of Romania, from our Prime Minister and from the Foreign Affairs Minister. Mention was then made of the traditional relations of collaboration between the two countries as well as collaboration with a view to integration of Romania and Yugoslavia in the European Union.
 The Democratic Movement of the Romanians living in Serbia welcomes with hope the victory of the oppositionThe Democratic Movement of the Romanians living in Serbia welcomes with hope the victory of the opposition in the recent elections of Yugoslavia and voices support for the rebuilding of the social and economic life of Yugoslavia. According to a communique released by the president of the movement, Dimitrie Craciunovici, the decision is expressed to take advantage of the historic chance to obtain the natural rights of the Romanians living in the Eastern side of Serbia to education and spiritual life in the language of their ancestors. The communique also appeals to the chancellories all over the world to support them.
 Agenda of the Chief negociator of Romania for adherence to the European UnionAurel Ciobanu Dordea who is the chief negociator of Romania for adherence to the European Union will be in Lisbon for two days to meet with the secretary of state for European affairs, Francisco Seixas da Costa. The Romanian negociator is to present the stage of Romania's adherence to the European Union. Another theme of the talk of the two officials is the annual report to be presented in Brussels on 8 November and which is focused on progress registered by our country. On Wednesday Mr. Dordea is in Paris for talks with the representatives of the French Foreign Ministry and of the National Assembly as in the second semester of this year France is the chairman of the European Union.
 Launching of the project Week of PeaceThe Week of Peace launched by the Organization of the Women of the World for Peace ended with a festival in the open air in front of the National Theater of Bucharest which was organized by the National Association of Women of Romania and other NGOs. The festivity ended with the planting of a tree in front of the National Theater of Bucharest.
 CALENDARA delegation of the Chamber of Deputies led by Ion Diaconescu,Chairman of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies is in Paris, France, to attend the festivities occasioned by the opening of the exhibition 150 YEARS OF PARLIAMENTARY RELATIONS BETWEEN FRANCE AND ROMANIA.
