NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The Republika Srpska (RS) member of the B-H Presidency, Momcilo Krajisnik, announced a meeting of the tripartite presidency to take place as soon as October 22, provided that the special US envoy John Cornblum "holds constructive talks with the other entity". In the US embassy building in Sarajevo, Krajisnik stated that he proposed that the B-H Presidency sessions be held alternately in the Serb and the Federation parts of Sarajevo. "By this, in the interim until a new building is constructed, an impasse in the work of joint Presidency would be prevailed", stated Krajisnik.

SARAJEVO - The RS member of the Dayton B-H Presidency, Momcilo Krajisnik, stated upon his leave for Sarajevo, he was hopeful that the talks with the US envoy John Cornblum would reaffirm Serb readiness to cooperate and would dismiss any doubt that the Serbs are opposed to those kind of meetings. Krajisnik stressed the necessity of respecting of equality of two entities in the Dayton Bosnia - RS and the Croat-Muslim Federation - pointing out that it especially relates to meetings of the joint Presidency.

SARAJEVO - The RS member of the Dayton B-H Presidency, Momcilo Krajisnik, talked in Pale with deputy Russian foreign minister Nikolai Afanasijevsky on further improvement of bilateral relations between the two countries and the implementation of the Dayton agreement. "We are glad for we reached an understanding and reiterated our commitment to do everything in order to establish the joint bodies of the Dayton B-H, and especially because the principle of equality of both entities is respected", stated Krajisnik after the meeting.

SARAJEVO - The RS representative in the three-member Presidency of the Dayton B-H, Momcilo Krajisnik, talked this evening with French ambassador to Sarajevo, Yves Godel, of a new meeting of the B-H Presidency. Ambassador Godel came to Pale with a suggestion for a meeting between Krajisnik and political directors of a part of the Contact Group. As the RS member in the House of Representatives of the Dayton B-H Parliament, Slobodan Bijelic, mentioned the outstanding issue again was the place of meeting, even though the RS representatives this evening displayed their good will to hold those meetings.

SARAJEVO - The deputy high representative of the international community, Michael Steiner, announced the presence of the international forces in the Dayton B-H next year, for "the peoples in RS and the Federation do not feel safe yet". "The presence of the international forces is needed in order to convince people in both entities that a renewed war is not possible", stated Steiner in his Sarajevo's office.

SARAJEVO - The RS interior minister, Dragan Kijac, warned of international community's non-compliance with the Procedure for return of refuges and reconstruction of houses in the zones of separation, a document it imposed upon RS and the B-H Federation. Minister Kijac mentioned the example of Jusici which is presently controlled neither by RS Police nor IFOR or IPTF, which situation the Muslims use for brining a new arms and ammunition supplies to the area.

THESALONIKI - The Sunday's "Elepheterotipia" publishes an article of a member of the Greek Institute for Foreign Policy, Plamen Tonsen, who says that the break-up of the Dayton B-H is more likely than its survival as an unitary state. According to Tonsen, the September elections in the former B- H did not allow the functioning of the entities, for they fairly legalised the functioning of the national parties.

AMSTERDAM - Profit, control over territory and natural resources are the real NATO objects in the former Bosnia, but not the establishment of peace and stability in the region, as is tried to presented, this was avowed at a tribune organised by the US organisation "Global Impact" in Amsterdam. Dealing with the US role in the war in the former Yugoslavia and NATO long- term objectives in the Balkans, the participants warned of the use of world media on the part of political elite of several the most powerful western countries for achieving their well-planned objectives.

PODGORICA - The Republic Electoral Commission of Monte Negro verified in Podgorica six out of 11 electoral deputies' lists of the SDS for Monte Negro for the Republic Assembly at the upcoming elections to be held on November 3.

SARAJEVO - The Russian Academician, professor of the Moscow University and the president of All-Russian Board for Protection and Aid to Serbs, Igor Rostislavovic Shafaryevic, held a speech at the National Library in Pale about "Orthodoxophobia" and "Slavophobia" in the western world.
