MARCH 14, 1997 DAY

NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The president of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska /RS/ Dragan Kalinic talked in Pale with the members of the World Bank mission, led by Mrs. Christine Wolich, about the strategy of aid of this financial institution to RS in next two-three years. In the announcement, forwarded for SRNA from the cabinet of the president of National Assembly, is said that Mrs. Wolich stressed that the economic aid of the World Bank in the next period will go in two directions - in infrastructure and direct support to reforms, thinking first of all, on privatisation, financial and taxation system and budget consumption. The president Kalinic stressed that the National Assembly of RS in his programme has a series of laws to be considered, by which will be deeply reformed the social system with the final aim that RS would become opened and free society with the high degree of respecting the human rights and modern market economy, leaned on the private property.

SARAJEVO - The president of the Government of RS Gojko Klickovic and the charge d'affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo Michael Parmly agreed in Pale about the meeting of the representatives of the Governments of RS and Federation B&H /FB&H/ at which will be talked about the common economic interests of both entities. The premier Klickovic assessed this initiative of U.S. as very constructive and announced that the meeting of ministers of industry, energy, trade and internal affairs in the Government of RS and FB&H would happen on Monday, 17, or Tuesday, March 18. After the meeting, the charges d'affaires in U.S. Embassy assessed this meeting as constructive and encouraging, and ideas and proposals of the premier Klickovic as very interesting.

SARAJEVO - On the Jahorina mountain tomorrow will be held the session of the National Assembly of RS, at which agenda will be also the ratification of the Agreement on the special parallel connections between RS and FR Yugoslavia /SRJ/. As announced, the delegates would consider the Draft Budget as well as the Draft of bill on Budget for 1997.

BELGRADE - The Assembly Board of Serbia for the relations with Serbs out of Serbia accepted at the session the Proposal of the Declaration on the special parallel relations between RS and FR Yugoslavia /SRJ/. The minister in the Government of Serbia for the connections with Serbs out of Serbia Radovan Pankov assessed in the introductory rationale of that document that the Agreement "affirms the peace policy and the principle of equal and democratic relations between the nations and states".

SOPHIA - The director of the Agency of the Economic Chamber of FR Yugoslavia in Sophia Radoje Andonovic stated that after the signing the Agreement on special parallel relations between RS and FR Yugoslavia in Bulgaria will be increased the sale of the goods from RS. Andonov said that the enterprises from RS in Bulgaria until now were little represented, but, according to him, the mere fact that the "Cajavec" from Banja Luka, together with the Yugoslavian firms participated on the last year economic fair in Plovdiv, talks that this agreement will only confirm such a practice.

AMSTERDAM - Acquitting Alija Izetbegovic of any responsibility for war crimes against Serbs is astonishing when it is known that the Hague Tribunal insisted persistently on indictments against Serbian leaders, deeming that they are responsible for what their soldiers allegedly had done, even when they were not informed about that, is the comment of the Dutch daily "Parol". The immediate cause for this assessment of the author of text, famous publicist and analyst of the situation in the former Yugoslavia Rene Gremau, was the discontentment of the Association of detainees with the seat in Belgrade by the procedure led in Hague against the indicted for crimes in the detention camp in Celebici, one year after the request of the Association to start this procedure.

SARAJEVO - The Croatian president Franjo Tudjman will visit Mostar on Saturday, where he will meet with the president in the Presidency of B&H Kresimir Zubak, is confirmed today in Sarajevo from the Office of the High Representative for civil affairs Carl Bildt, reports DPA. Tudjman would attend the opening the factory of aluminium in Mostar.

SKOPJE - The insurgent Albanian civilians have occupied all border watch- towers on the Albanian-Macedonian border, and on the border crossing Djapasan the armed conflict occurred between the Albanian and Macedonian soldiers. During the attack of the rebels civilians, the Albanian soldiers were going towards the border of BRJM, where Macedonians were shooting on them, after what Albanian soldiers escaped while throwing away guns and machine guns. According to the order of the supreme commander of BRJM Army Kiro Gligorov, the Macedonian army is put on high alert and the border with Albania was closed.
