SEPT. 28 1997 DAY

NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

NIKSIC - The prime ministers of Republika Srpska (RS) and Montenegro, Gojko Klickovic, and Milo Djukanovic, respectively, came to an agreement in Niksic on forming of expert groups which are to determine the order and conditions for the realisation of the joint projects in the fields of energetic, transportation, telecommunications and the linking of both informative systems. While concluding that it is necessary to create conditions for the continuation of mutual cooperation and to define the priorities of cooperation in the above fields, the premiers stressed that the cooperation is to be based on the mutual useful interests.

SARAJEVO - Serbs sold 40 homes at Borivoje Jeftic Street, at Vrace, a part of Serb Sarajevo which belonged to the Federation of B&H after the Dayton Agreement was signed. Thus, this street is, practically, ethnically pure, writes Tanjug. Such a way of ethnic cleansing represents the reality in the Muslim part of Sarajevo, regardless of the alleged "making of efforts" for the city to acquire an epithet - a multiethnic. While calling upon the data of the tax authorities of the Sarajevo canton, Tanjug concludes that the inter-entity deal in apartments and houses came to a critical point at which it is quite certain that Serbs, especially those living in the areas given by the Dayton Agreement to the Federation of B&H, sold 1,000 houses so far and, the most probably, left the city for good.

BELGRADE - The Prosecutor's Office of the Hague Tribunal does not allow the Serb witnesses - the victims of the Celebici concentration camp, to reveal the real truth about the crimes committed by Muslims and Croats against Serbs in the Municipality of Konjic in 1992. This way it [prosecutor's office] prevents the real proportions of these crimes to be known. 'The real picture of the crimes committed by Ustashe soldiers is terrifying - out of 7,000 Serbs who lived in Konjic, there are now only 280 of them', publishes Tanjug the Serb testimonies against the criminals from Celebici. The former inmates testified against the main executors, Zejnil Delalic, Hazem Delic, Esad Landzo and Zdravko Mucic. Upon their return they stated that the prosecutor Grant Nyman asked them not to talk about the crimes committed outside the concentration camp, because that crimes, as he said, 'do not relate directly to the case of Celebici'. Slobodan Stojanovic, the attorney of the victims from Celebici, believes that such an act by the Prosecutor's Office neither is a surprise nor anything new, but is a consequence of its basic concept 'expressed through the selective policy of prosecuting and the judicial discrimination of the Serbian people'. Out of 19 indictments, Serbs are indicted for 14.

ATHENS - The agreement reached in Belgrade on overcoming of the political crisis in RS confirmed that the Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic still directs the events in the former Yugoslavia and that the international community can count on him, assess the Greek press. The Greek papers assess that 'this move is actually a beneficial trump taken by Milosevic - who is a good expert in the political game - at an adequate moment for him'.

PITTSBURGH - The Congress of the Serbian Unity commenced an annual assembly session at which it is trying to find a possibility for offering help in overcoming of the crisis in RS and for the political and economic reforms in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY). It was concluded during the discussion that 'the double leadership in RS led to divisions, then to immediate confrontations and finally to an enormous damage done to the whole of the Serbian people in RS'.

THESSALONIKI - The Greek president Kostis Stephanopulous called last night in Thessaloniki the great powers and international organisations to react against the Turkish threats with war, reports AFP. 'Turkey is the only state in Europe and, maybe, in the whole of world that uses the most cynic way of threatening with war for achieving of its secret aims by a blackmail', stated Stephanopulous. 'We should all understand that this threat is not directed at Greece only, but to the international legal order as well', stated the Greek president.
