BANJA LUKA - The president of Republika Srpska /RS/ Biljana Plavsic congratulated the Christmas and New Year to the Serbian people in RS, Serbian states and Diaspora, and St. Patron's Day - St. Stephen - wishing that "benefits of holiday of Christ's birth would be present in every Serbian home". "I expect that new year will bring peace, harmony, happiness and welfare to our fatherland - RS, stable and unitary" - warns the president of RS greeting all Serbs by the traditional greeting: "God's peace! The Christ was born"!

BELGRADE - His holiness archbishop Serbian Mr. Pavle with his arch-priests of the Serbian Orthodox Church /SPC/ congratulated the Christmas to the clergy, monks and all sons and daughters of SPC, wishing them blessings, mercy and peace from God the Father, Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit, with the Christmas greeting: God's peace! The Christ was born! Christmas' Epistle by archbishop Pavle which SRNA conveys in whole.

BANJA LUKA - After the meeting of the president of Republika Srpska /RS/ Biljana Plavsic with the mandator of the new government Mladen Ivanic was expressed the necessity of quick forming of the Cabinet. "Supporting the proposed concept about creating the Government of the National Unity, president Plavsic expressed the hope that no parliamentary party from RS will be against proposed concept" - is stated in the announcement from the Cabinet of president of RS.

BANJA LUKA - The president of Serbian Radical Party /SRS/ of RS Nikola Poplasen confirmed that the representatives of Serbian Democratic Party /SDS/ and radicals did not accept the offered concept for composition of the new government, because they think that it devaluate the results of early parliamentary elections. "According to our deep conviction the concept about Government which would be composed of 11 party representatives and equally so out of party ministers, i.e. experts, ignores the results of elections, and by that the majority of Serbian mandates in National Assembly" - said Poplasen for SRNA.

BANJA LUKA - The Socialist Party /SP/ of RS supports "basic draft of mandator of Government of national unity Mladen Ivanic as, in this moment, the most acceptable solution for coming through a crisis in which RS is longer time". "SP of RS is expressing conviction and expecting that other parliamentary parties, especially SDS and SRS, will support the concept of Ivanic and are giving their contributions in order that National Assembly will elect new government on January 12" - it is stated in the report of SP.

BRCKO - Mandator of RS New Government Mladen Ivanic talked in Brcko with International supervisor Robert Farrand about constituting new cabinet, but he refused to talk about details of talks. He briefly said that he will not give any public statements in next few days.

BANJA LUKA - Supervisor for Brcko Robert Farrand announced after meeting with RS President Biljana Plavsic that he will, during hearing on arbitrage process, in Vienna in March, convey all positive results from Brcko, especially with multi-ethnic patrols in zone of separation in sector South- North. Reminding on orders which he issued in October last year, he expressed satisfaction with "successful transition of municipal assembly presidential function, i.e. because Serb who was on that function substituted by Muslim, and the success of two sessions of the New convocation held until now.

BRCKO - Executive Board of Municipal Assembly in Brcko in post-electoral composition on the first session adopted suggestion of major Borko Reljic about global organisation of local autonomy. The work of municipal services was organised in four secretariats with eleven sections, which is the most rational way to keep all earlier employed workers and to respect scheduled percentage of national representation from order of supervisor - 52 Serbs against 48 Muslim representatives and Croats from B&H Federation /FB&H/.

BRCKO - The deputy major of Brcko Mirsad Islamovic stated that in the region of the town under supervision governs the full freedom of movement. "Multi-ethnical police in Brcko is operating perfectly well" - confirmed Islamovic, who arrived at the first session of municipal assembly by his car without escort of international organisations.

MOSTAR - The Spanish king Juan Carlos arrived to Mostar to visit Spanish soldiers who participate in the peace-making operations in B&H. In the escort of king, who celebrates the 60th birthday, is also the Spanish defence minister Eduard Sera.
