NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BANJALUKA - The President of the Serbian People Party (SNS) from Zagreb and a delegate in the Croatian Assembly Milan Kic said in Banjaluka that, according to information of the SNS, in the last five years more than 6,500 Serbs have been killed in Croatia. These 6,500 Serbs have been killed only after well-known military-police action "Bljesak" and "Oluja" as well as Serbs killed in cities from 1991-1994. " The goal of Croatia has been creating of a national state, regional unit and - Croatia without the Serbs", said Kic.

BANJALUKA - The Hague War Crimes Tribunal formed three groups of investigators which will be working on identifying of responsible ones for crimes committed against Serbs by Croats in Medacki Dzep in 1993, Gospic in 1991 and during military operation against Krajina "Oluja"1995. Director of "Veritas" Savo Strbac stated for Tanjug that a list with 76 names on it of possible witnesses has been dispatched to the investigators. These witnesses are inhabitants of the villages in the region of Medacki Dzep who had given their statements to the UNPROFOR under which alleged protection that region was.

VUKOVAR - The Special American Envoy for the Balkans Robert Gelbard and the U.S. Ambassador to Croatia William Montgomery are due to have talks in Vukovar with members of the National Board for Establishing Trust about the situation in the Eastern Slavonia. Aside from Gelbard and Montgomery, the representative of the Board Vesna Skare-Osbolt, vice-presidents Ivica Vrkic and Vojislav Stanimirovic, president of the Serbian National Council Milorad Pupovac, Assistant Croatian Internal Affairs Minister Josko Moric and president of the Association of the Exiled from Croatia Mate Simic should attend the meeting.

ZURICH - Serbia must endure and decisively oppose the Albanian terrorism in Kosovo, it is a message from a peaceful demonstration of more than 2,000 Serbs from Switzerland in Zurich against terror of Albanians from Kosovo and demonization of Serbian people in Swiss media.

SKOPJE - The BJRM President Kiro Gligorov stated in an interview with the Parisian "Mond" that armed clashes between Serbian forces and members of so- called "Liberation Army of Kosovo" were not internal-Serbian matter, but the international matter. "If the Democratic Union of Kosovo could have talks with moderate Serbian collocutors, there would be no reason for a war, which is not the case at the moment", said Gligorov, adding that the situation in Kosovo could be worsen.

ATHENS - Unless the terrorism of Albanians from Kosovo is not stopped, along with actions of police in Kosovo, the secession or independence of Kosovo is very likely to happen, assessed a Greek daily "Elefterotipia". "No matter that most of countries are urging on peaceful solution of Kosovo within FRY and not changing of the borders, possibility of changing of this stance, by the U.S. above all, reflects a way of solving of this problem, taking B&H as a model", said the Greek paper.

BANJALUKA - At the first Inaugural Session of the City Board of Banjaluka Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) with secret voting Dragan Cavic was elected president. Djordje Mikic, Stefan Todorovic, Mirko Banjac and Rajko Blagojevic have been elected vice-presidents of the City Board.

SRBINJE - The team of four Colombian surgeons and one American anaesthesiologist headed by the surgeon doctor Hose Lopes will visit from April 4-11 the General Hospital of the Clinical Centre of Sarajevo University Medical School in Srbinje.

VIENNA - In the framework of the programme of literary tribune of the Serbian Centre last night in the premises of Humanitas in Vienna literary gathering was held with the subject "What is prose of a new style". Milisav Savic, Dragi Bugarcic and Radoslav Bratic read fragments from their books.

DOBOJ - The presidents of governments of Republika Srpska /RS/ and Federation B&H /FB&H/ Milorad Dodik and Edhem Bicakcic agreed in Doboj details of agreement about founding joint Railway Corporation of B&H, which would be signed in next days. "The representatives of RS and FB&H harmonised at the beginning of month in Paris the Draft agreement on establishing joint public railway corporation, whixh comprise two equal railway companies from both entities", is said in the announcement of Railroads of RS. Joint corporation would enable bringing all decisions connected with undisturbed, secure and regular performance of interentity and international traffic.

DOBOJ - The premier of RS Milorad Dodik stated for SRNA in Doboj on the occasion of founding Public Corporation of railway traffic in B&H that all dilemmas about its forming eliminated, and that it was agreed that next few days would be signed agreement which will be presented to the public. "The agreement will enable perfect function of railway in whole B&H, by which will be made conditions for coming out to Europe and the world", stressed Dodik and added: "There remains to make agreement with neighbouring countries about conducting railway traffic in the wider surroundings". The general director of Railway traffic of RS Marinko Biljanovic stated for SRNA that "Railways of RS are trying to create economic profit in order to have better development and perspective". The premier of FB&H Edhem Bicakcic said that "railway corporation is the first corporation which was made according to Annex 9 of Dayton agreement" and that "it was agreed to start with forming other corporations in the field of telecommunications and electro-power utility, according to the same model.

SARAJEVO - The spokesman of SFOR Peter Clark confirmed for SRNA that NATO- aircraft used bombs with impoverished uranium during air strikes against RS, but that is not, as some news claim, atomic weapons, but weapons treated the same like other round, with minimal risk for health. According to him, that is anti-armoured weapon which was used in the surroundings of Sarajevo against Serbian tanks which, according to the agreement dare not be closer to the city than 20 kilometres. Asked whether the use of these bombs could make damage to the natural environment in RS and to the health of population, Clark answered that NATO uses the same ammunition during exercises on the military sites in Britain and U.S. At the regular part of the press conference in Sarajevo he announced that great convoy of SFOR vehicles will start to go tomorrow towards Glamoc, where will be held the military exercise, warning drivers to be cautious.

BERLIN - U.S.A. are very pleased with progress in RS after election of new government - stated the special U.S. envoy for Balkans Robert Gelbard during the visit to RS and FB&H. During the recent stay in the region Mr. Gelbard concluded that "the Bosnian Croats and Moslems should do much in order to make federation operative" - conveys the Berlin's daily "Tages Spiegel".

BIJELJINA - The Serbian People's Union /SNS/ will demand that on the agenda of next session of National Assembly of RS as the first item be the report about the work of president of RS in joint organs of B&H - stated the vice- president of the party Svetozar Mihajlovic at the press conference in Bijeljina. "We think that it is the last time to review the work of our representatives in the joint organs and clarify various obstructions which were done by them and which have lead to Sintra, Bonn and other international conferences" - said Markovic.

BANJA LUKA - The president of the Serbian Party of Krajina and Posavina /SSK&P/ Predrag Lazarevic accused the leaders of certain parties in RS that in contacts with representatives of international community they raise the issue of forbidding participation of SSK&P on September's elections. At the press conference in Banja Luka he stated the name of president of Social- Liberal Party Miodrag Zivanovic, as well as "the imported quasidemocracy from U.S.A. which openly strives for elimination national parties from electoral process".

BANJA LUKA - The deputy major of BAnja Luka Mihajlo Crnadak talked with the Swedish delegation lead by Mrs. Gunbrit Anderson about problems of return of refugees from that country to B&H. Crnadak informed in details the guests from Sweden about the current political, economic, social and humanitarian situation in Banja Luka, stressing that in that city was accommodated more than 40,000 of refugees from FB&H and around 25,000 from Croatia. Reminding that to Banja Luka returned almost 600 refugees, and that still were not closed all collective accommodation centres, he added that return of Croats and Moslems to Banja Luka is not possible to realise without previous repatriation of Serbs to Croatia.

SREBRENICA - Already in the Old Ages, in the time of Roman Empire was founded and in some documents was mentioned town Domavia with around 30,000 inhabitants. The wise Latin did not raised it accidentally, and many readers are not informed with the fact that city was on the ground where is now today's Srebrenica, from were originates the first written document about protections of human environment which is kept in UN - writes the SRNA journalist Miro Pejic in an article titled as "Guber water - the medicine phenomenon".

BANJA LUKA - The president of European Commission David Stewart Hovit announced at the press conference in Banja Luka soon production of new 25, 000 of registering plates, which cost is 137,000 ECUs. Stewart stressed that Holding "Cajavec", plant of Mechanic production, have done the job with responsibility and quality, that 3,000 plates will be given to police and 3,000 to Army, and that their distribution will start next week.

STOLAC - The SFOR units, 100 of Dutch and 32 American marines, with the support of Romanian mechanisation forces from the land and U.S. combat aeroplanes "Hurrier" and helicopters "Cobra" - performed in Stolac the action of airdrop in the framework of fourteen days manoeuvres "The Dynamic Response".
