    [03] Foreign Minister - Cyprus - Talks

Nicosia, May 6 (CNA) - Cyprus Foreign Minister, Ioannis Kasoulides, said today that political will is necessary to find a solution for Cyprus, divided since 1974 when Turkey invaded and occupied the northern third of the island.

Speaking today after visiting President Glafcos Clerides, who is being treated at a private clinic after undergoing surgery to remove a polyp from his large intestine, Kasoulides said that a settlement must be in the context of UN resolutions, as opposed to any demands aiming not at a solution but at the consolidation of the present division of the island.
