    [01] US - Clinton - Party platform - Cyprus

    Washington, Aug 14 (CNA) -- The Clinton administration believes that the work towards a resolution of tensions between the Greek and Turkish communities in Cyprus should continue, according to a paragraph in the Democratic Party platform.

    The said paragraition in the two-day Balkan Swimming and Diving Games, which closed yesterday in Nicosia.

    According to the final results, Greece was on top of the league of the six participating countries in men's events with 230 points, followed by Romania with 178, Yugoslavia 147, Bulgaria 106, Cyprus 79 and Bosnia- Herzegovina 12.

    Nicosia, Aug 14 (CNA) -- According to the Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport, the weather forecast for Cyprus is:

    Tuesday and Wednesday: 15/8/2000 to 16/8/2000

    The weather will remain fine with some fog patches during the night. The winds will be fresh westerly and the state of sea slight. Temperature will range from 21 to 34 inland and from 22 to 32 on the coast. Outlook for Thursday and Friday: 17/8/2000 to 19/8/2000

    Fine with freh sea breezes.

    [03] Cyprus - Balkan Games - Final Results

    Nicosia, Aug 14 (CNA) -- Cyprus with four gold, five silver and seven bronze medals secured the fourth position in the two-day Balkan Swimming and Diving Games, which closed yesterday in Nicosia.

    According to the final results, Greece was on top of the league of the six participating countries in men's events with 230 points, followed by Romania with 178, Yugoslavia 147, Bulgaria 106, Cyprus 79 and Bosnia- Herzegovina 12.

    [04] Al Gore - Cyprus

    Nicosia, Aug 14 (CNA) - US Presidential hopeful Al Gore has said he would continue to work for a just and lasting solution in Cyprus and expressed support for the UN-led efforts towards a comprehensive settlement, stressing that he remains deeply engaged in this process.

    Gore also said he would redouble his efforts for a peaceful resolution of the Cyprus and other disputes in accordance with international law.
