[04] Interior Minister - Illegal immigrants - Lebanon

Nicosia, Oct 2 (CNA) - Interior Minister, Christodoulos Christodoulou, said today that the 275 illegal immigrants, who are being guarded on a cruise ship in Limassol Port, would be returned to Lebanon within the next couple of days, after an agreement between the two countries.

Asked if they would be returned to their own countries or back to Lebanon, where they departed from, Christodoulou said that a bilateral agreement with Lebanon provides for their return to the port from which they left, "so naturally in this case the illegal immigrants will be sent to Lebanon".
