    [01] Weather forecast for Cyprus

    Íicosia, May 14 (CNA) - The Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport has issued the following weather forecast for Cyprus:

    Ôuesday and Wednesday: 15/05/2001 to 16/05/2001

    Ïn Tuesday local showers are possible in the afternoon mainly over the mountains, while on Wednesday the weather will be mainly fine.

    Moderate to fresh westerly to southwesterly winds will prevail during the day, becoming gentle overnight. State of sea slight to moderate.

    Maximum temperatures will range between 24C and 26C and minimum temperatures betwwen 13C and 15C.

    Outlook for Thursday and Friday: 17/05/2001 to 18/05/2001

    Mainly fine. Maximum temperatures are expected to rise.

    Sea Temperature: 21C.

    [02] Foreign - Defence Ministers - Brussels

    Larnaca, May 14 (CNA) -- Cyprus' Foreign and Defence Ministers Ioannis Kasoulides and Socratis Hasikos left today for Brussels to attend European Union meetings of their respective competences, expressing hope things would run smoothly at the Association Council and the second meeting on the formation of a European rapid deployment force.

    Speaking at Larnaca airport prior to his departure, Kasoulides said tomorrow's Council meeting between the EU and Cyprus is important in that it takes place after the EU has determined a unanimous policy on the question of Cyprus, which he described as "positive".
