    [01] President Clerides flies from London to New York

    London, Nov 7 (CNA) -- Cyprus President Glafcos Clerides flies today from London to New York where he will address the UN General Assembly and hold meetings with UN Secretary General Kofi Annan and the ambassadors of the UN Security Council Permanent Members.

    Clerides will also meet UN Secretary General's Special Adviser on Cyprus Alvaro de Soto and US State Department's Special Coordinator for Cyprus Thomas Weston.

    Meanwhile, Cyprus Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides was due to meet today in London with his British counterpart Jack Straw.

    He will also meet British Special Representative on Cyprus Lord David Hannay and British Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott.

    In the evening Kasoulides will address a dinner to be given by the Greek Cypriot Brotherhood that will be attended by MPs, members of the House of Lords and journalists. CNA/MM/KT/MK/GP/2001

    [02] Cypriot MP's to participate in Euro-Med Parliamentary Forum

    Nicosia, Nov 7 (CNA) -- A three-member Cypriot parliamentary delegation leaves today for Brussels to attend the 3rd Extraordinary Euro- Mediterranean Parliamentary Forum that will focus on "Strengthening the inter-cultural dialogue between the two shores of the Mediterranean".

    [03] Cypriot Minister - Qatar - WTO ministerial meeting

    Nicosia, Nov 7 (CNA) -- Cyprus Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism Nicos Rolandis leaves tomorrow for Doha, Qatar, at the head of a delegation, to participate in the World Trade Organisation ministerial meeting to be held November 9-13.

    An official press release issued here said the meeting aims at evaluating the Organisation's work and it is expected to decide on the start of a new round of talks expected to focus on the further liberalisation of the fields of agriculture and services. The meeting will also discuss the regulations pertaining investment and competition issues.| CNA/MK/GP/2001
