1445:CYPPRESS:01[01] CoE urges Turkish Cypriots to join accession negotiationsNicosia, Nov 13 (CNA) -- Rapporteur on the situation in Cyprus of the Political Affairs Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Andras Barsony has called on the Turkish Cypriot side to participate in the Republic's negotiations for accession to the European Union, adding that there is an opportunity for a solution to the Cyprus problem to be achieved prior to the island's accession to the EU.Speaking after meeting here today Cyprus' Chief negotiator for accession to the EU George Vassiliou, Barsony, here on a four-day visit, expressed the CoE's great interest in the EU enlargement process since all applicant countries are members of the CoE.
