    EU Ministers seem to favour funding of occupied Cyprus

    Nicosia, Feb 9 (CNA) - The Informal Meeting of Foreign Affairs Ministers of the EU member states began yesterday afternoon in Caceres, Spain, to discuss EU enlargement, the Balkans and the Middle East. As regards Cyprus, the 15 appear to accept the European Commission's proposal to fund the Turkish occupied areas of the Republic with 206 million Euros, for the period 2004-2006.

    Cyprus says Denktash statement on refugees is outrageous

    Nicosia, Feb 9 (CNA) - Government Spokesman Michalis Papapetrou dismissed as "outrageous" statements by Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash, who was quoted by Turkish Cypriot media as saying that after 28 years it was not possible that refugees still existed.
