Nicosia, Dec 14 (CNA) -- Some 140,000 Turkish Cypriots will cast their
vote in today's ''parliamentary elections'' in the northern Turkish
occupied part of the island, in what has been described as the
strongest challenge Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash has seen to
his authority.

Nicosia, Dec 14 (CNA) -- Police increased today security measures along
the ceasefire line and at crossing points to avert any unwelcome
incident, due to the ''parliamentary elections'' taking place in
northern Turkish occupied Cyprus, Minister of Justice and Public Order
Doros Theodorou has said.
