[01] NEW MINISTER OF INTERIOR
New Minister of the Interior Neoklis Silikiotis gave the prescribed
affirmation today before President Tassos Papadopoulos during a special
ceremony at the Presidential Palace.
President Papadopoulos expressed certainty that the new Minister would
successfully fulfill his duties and thanked outgoing Minister of the
Interior Andreas Christou, saying that he set high standards for his
successor.
Sylikiotis assured that with hard work he would accomplish the
government mission.
Christou is departing from the Ministry to run for Limassol Mayor in
the forthcoming local authority elections.
