President of Nicaragua Daniel Ortega has assured that his country will
continue to support Cyprus` struggle for justice.
Receiving recently the credentials of Cyprus` Ambassador to Nicaragua,
based in Mexico, Antonis Grivas, Ortega expressed support towards the
just cause of Cyprus.
He furthermore asked Grivas to convey to the government and people of
Cyprus the assurance that Nicaragua would continue its steadfast
support towards the struggle of Cyprus.
[02] CYPRUS UN UNIFIL
An agreement between the Republic of Cyprus Permanent Representative to
the UN Andreas Mavroyiannis and Under-Secretary-General for
Peacekeeping Operations Jean-Marie Guehenno was signed concerning the
status of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
Guehenno expressed satisfaction over the agreement and thanked Cyprus
for its assistance and contribution to the UN peacekeeping work in
Lebanon by providing installations and other facilities to UNIFIL.
On his part, Mavroyiannis conveyed Cyprus satisfaction over the
agreement, noting it confirms the cooperation between Cyprus, the UN
and Lebanon.
