The Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises all Cypriots citizens to avoid visiting Thailand due to the tense political situation prevailing currently in the country.

According to international media reports, protesters have been occupying the international airport amid an escalating political crisis. All flights have been cancelled and thousands of Thais and foreign tourists are stranded in the Thai capital. Frustrated passengers have been sent to hotels until the airport, one of Asia`s busiest, can reopen.

Following previous announcements, the Ministry urges Cypriot citizens to avoid any visit to Thailand due to the situation.
