  • [01] FSF-SEC) ACTION PLAN - APPROVED

    The 2009-2010 action plan of the Flight Safety Foundation South East Europe Cyprus (FSF-SEC) was approved at the first meeting of the board of directors and founder members of the Regional Branch of the «Flight Safety Foundation», held on Thursday here.

    According to a press release, FSF-SEC has been recently established in Cyprus and its activities will cover the countries of Southeast Europe and Middle East.

    In statements to CNA, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Communications and Works Makis Constantinides, who attended the meeting, welcomed, on behalf of the Ministry, the establishment of FSF-SEC in Cyprus.

    He, also, thanked the President of the Greek Air Accident Investigation and Aviation Safety Board Akrivos Tsolakis for his assistance to establish FSF-SEC in Cyprus.

    Constantinides noted that Communications and Works Ministry and the government in general are standing by the institution and will help with all means at their disposal for its success.

    [02] CYPRIOT SHOOTER GOLD - ISSF

    Cypriot World Champion George Achilleos has won the gold medal in Men`s Skeet final at the ISSF World Cup in San Marino.

    The reigning Skeet World Champion won first place with total score of 146 targets, 121 targets in qualification and a perfect 25 hits in the event`s final.

    This is Achilleos` second medal in 2009 after a bronze medal he won in Munich.

    After San Marino, Achilleos, Hasikos and Cyprus` coach Andrea Benelli will travel to Pescara, Italy to compete in the XVI Mediterranean Games.
