    Minister of Foreign Affairs Marcos Kyprianou departed on Wednesday for Libya, to represent the President of the Republic Demetris Christofias in events for the 41st anniversary of the Al Fatah revolution.

    According to an official press release, Kyprianou will be returning to Cyprus on Thursday.

    [02] MINISTER OF INTERIOR CHINA INVESTMENTS

    Minister of the Interior Neoclis Sylikiotis returned on Wednesday from a visit to Beijing and Shanghai, saying there were prospects to increase Chinese tourism and investments in Cyprus.

    During his stay in China, Sylikiotis briefed Chinese officials on the political, economic and social situation in Cyprus, and pointed out that there was a great interest by Chinese citizens in Cypriot real estate.

    In Shanghai, Sylikiotis visited EXPO 2010, the theme of which was the urban environment and living conditions. The exhibition also focused on Cyprus` national day, during which various events and ceremonies were held.

    In Beijing, Sylikiotis met with his Chinese counterpart and discussed the situation in Cyprus and issues concerning the two Ministries.
