    Flight Safety Foundation SE Europe M. East Cyprus announced on Friday an international conference to be held in Nicosia on April 27 and 28 under the title ``Aviation Safety: Implementation, Regulation, Training``.

    Christos Petrou, Conference Coordinator and CEO of FSF/SE.Europe-M.East-Cyprus, told a press conference that International Civil Aviation Organization Secretary General Raymond Benjamin will be opening of the conference.

    He will be received by President of the Republic Demetris Christofias who will also receive the heads of the international organisations participating in the conference and address the awards ceremony and the presentation of an award to the ICAO Secretary General by the FSF-SEC, to be held the evening of April 27. At the same ceremony, a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Flight Safety Foundation of Cyprus and the Russian equivalent will be signed, Petrou noted.

    The heads of EUROCONTROL, ECAC, Flight Safety Foundation, European Civil Aviation Conference and Federation of European Airlines are among those to be attending the conference. ``So far, over a 150 people from 23 countries and six international organisations have indicated participation,`` he said. Experienced professionals from all sectors of the Air Transport Industry will present the latest developments in the field of flight safety, he added.
