[01] BRITISH MINISTER OF STATE - CYPRUS VISIT
British Minister of State, responsible for Europe, David Lidington,
will pay a two-day visit to Cyprus, beginning Monday. He will be
received by President Demetris Christofias and have a series of
contacts.
Mr. Lidington is coming to Cyprus to hear for himself the latest
developments in the Cyprus settlement process. During his visit he will
hold meetings with the political leadership and listen to their views
on the process and the expectations both sides have over the next few
months, British High Commissioner in Nicosia Matthew Kidd has told CNA
about the visit.
It will be an opportunity for the UK to reiterate its support for the
process and readiness to assist in any way we can while encouraging the
leaders to take seize the opportunity of their forthcoming meeting with
the UNSG, he added.
