[01] FM briefs EP on conclusions of Foreign Affairs Council
Minister of Foreign Affairs Erato Kozakou Marcoullis will brief Thursday
the Development Committee (DEVE) of the European Parliament on the
Conclusions of the Foreign Affairs Council (FAC), which took place on
October 15th.
According to a press release issued by the Cyprus EU Presidency,
Marcoullis will chair the EU-Algeria Association Council on behalf of
the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security
Policy, Baroness Catherine Ashton.
The FM is going to brief MEPs on some of the general strategic issues
discussed at the FAC meeting, mainly EU support to transition societies,
EU approach to resilience and more importantly the debate on the post-2015
global framework.
[02] Council to endorse package agreement on EU 2013 budget
The EU Council of Ministers is expected to endorse Thursday the
package agreement reached between the negotiating teams of the Cyprus
EU Presidency and the European Parliament on the amending 2012 budget
and the 2013 budget of the EU.
The agreement will be approved by the EU Ministers as an ‘A' item on
the agenda of Thursday's Justice and Home Affairs Council that will take
place in Brussels.
The final vote of the EP will take place on the 13th of December.
