[01] Cyprus participates in agriculture meeting in Italy
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and
the Environment Egli Pantelaki has paid a working visit to Rome, where
she participated in a meeting organized by the Ministry of Agriculture
of the People`s Republic of China to strengthen and promote cooperation
in agriculture between China and six Mediterranean countries (Cyprus,
Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Malta).
According to an official press release, the meeting was chaired by Deputy
Prime Minister of the People`s Republic of China Hui Liangyu. The Cypriot
official thanked the Chinese for their initiative to organize the meeting
and informed them about the current state of agriculture in Cyprus,
noting specific areas of action to strengthen the cooperation between
the participating countries in the agricultural sector.
During the meeting, participants ascertained that there are many
possibilities for enhanced cooperation in agriculture between them
and issued a joint statement in which they mentioned specific areas of
cooperation in the field of agriculture.
[02] Lillikas offers no support to either presidential candidate
Giorgos Lillikas has said that he would not support any of the two
remaining candidates, heading for a run-off in Sunday's presidential
elections in Cyprus.
Lillikas, who came third in votes during the first round of elections
last Sunday, February 17, said differences with Nikos Anastasiades and
Stavros Malas were enormous.
He called on his supporters to vote at will this Sunday.
