[01] Cypriots show their solidarity during Cyprus Aid concert
Cypriots have demonstrated once again their solidarity towards their
fellow citizens, during the "Cyprus Aid" concert, by contributing in
kind for those in need, according to the organizers of the charity event.
People offered non perishable goods, medicine and other basic items,
which will be distributed to individuals, families and other groups who
have an immediate need.
The "Cyprus Aid" concert took place Monday in Nicosia with the
participation of around 50 artists from Cyprus and Greece, who united
their voices and art, expressing their solidarity to people who are
faced with economic hardship.
[02] Eurostat: Unemployment in Cyprus reaches 14% in February
Unemployment in Cyprus reached 14% of the active population in February,
compared to 13.7% in January, while unemployment among men was 13.9%
and women 14.1%, according to Eurostat.
Unemployment among young persons under the age of 25 was 31.8%, based
on December data.
The Euro area seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate was 12% in February
2013, stable compared with January. The EU27 unemployment rate was 10.9%,
up from 10.8% in the previous month.
