say [01] EU Commissioner: We have to tackle youth unemploymentAndroulla Vassiliou, European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, has said that youth unemployment now stands at 23.6% in the EU, where some 5.7 million young people under 25 are unemployed and at work, young people are strongly over-represented in temporary jobs.Speaking Monday at the EU Youth Conference-Opening Ceremony in Dublin, she thanked the Irish Presidency for the excellent job they have done in organising the event. [02] Pafos 2017 to leave its mark, European Cultural Capital organizers sayThe team of "Pafos European Capital of Culture 2017" met here today with the city's Mayor Savvas Vergas, kick-starting cooperation between the municipal council and the organization responsible for planning cultural events.In statements after the meeting, Vergas said he hoped to establish a successful cooperation between the municipal council and the organization. This cooperation, he went on, will encompass all stakeholders, cultural associations, volunteers and organized groups, in order to proceed united and carry out this "great challenge".
