    [01] Denktash in Gaziantep, Turkey

    According to KIBRIS (19.2.98) Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash is to leave for Gaziantep, South Turkey, on Saturday to attend a meeting organized by the city's local Chamber of Commerce.

    Turkey's deputy Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit will also attend the meeting.

    KIBRIS reports that Ecevit will fly to the occupied Tymbou airport on his private plane, take Denktash and leave together for Gaziantep. On his return, Ecevit will make a stop over at the occupied Tymbou airport.

    [02] French ambassador gives farewell reception

    KIBRIS (19.2.98) reports that outgoing French ambassador Henry-Jacolin has given a farewell reception in the occupied area, on the occasion of his departure from Cyprus. Present at the reception was Denktash and the whole Turkish Cypriot leadership.
