This Identification Committee will guarantee the independence, legitimacy and credibility of the identification process. Starting in February 2008, the work of the identification Committee is expected to take around four months.[02] European Commission and World Energy Council discuss the challenges of a sustainable energy futureThe European Commission and the World Energy Council (WEC) held a joint seminar today, featuring topics ranging from Europe's vulnerability in terms of security of energy supply to new technologies, which will help ensure a sustainable energy environment.[03] EU pledges commitment to development for African Cotton producing countriesEU Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson has met today with Ministers from two African cotton producing countries to discuss the Doha Development Agenda, EU trade and development policy and the Economic Partnership Agreements that the EU is currently working on with African and Pacific countries. Mandelson met with Mamadou Sanou, Minister for Trade, Entrepreneurship and Handicrafts of Burkina Faso, and Ba Fatoumata Nene Sy, Minister for Economy, Industry and Trade of Mali.[04] Enregistrement de trois dénominations de produits agricolesLa Commission européenne a ajouté trois dénominations de produits agricoles et alimentaires la liste des appellations d'origine protégées (AOP) et indications géographiques protégées (IGP). Il s'agit de l’huile “Aceite del Baix Ebre-Montsi “ ou “Oli del Baix Ebre-Montsi ” (Espagne - AOP), du chou “Nošovické kysané zelí” (République tchèque - AOP) et du pain d’épice “Pardubický perník” (République tchèque – IGP). Les trois dénominations s'ajoutent la liste d'environ 800 produits déj protégés en vertu de la législation sur la protection des indications géographiques, des appellations d'origine et des spécialités traditionnelles. Cancer is a growing health concern in Europe. According to recent figures, more than three million Europeans are diagnosed with cancer every year. Cancer kills almost 2 million people annually in Europe. During his opening address at the conference "The Burden of Cancer – How can it be reduced?" Commissioner Kyprianou is expected to stress the importance of primary prevention but also the need for effective screening programmes and early detection. Commissioner Kyprianou will also announce the completion of the second edition of the European Guidelines for Quality Assurance in Cervical Cancer Screening. Bouyges est actif dans la construction, l'immobilier, les travaux routiers, l'audiovisuel (TF1), la téléphonie mobile (Bouygues Telecom) et la fabrication d'équipements de production d'électricité et de transport ferroviaire (société Alstom). Artemis est présent dans les secteurs des articles de luxe et de sport (Gucci Group et Puma), la distribution (FNAC, Conforama, Redcats, CFAO), la vente aux enchères (Christies) et le secteur de la presse (Le Point, Histoire, Historia, La Recherche, Le Magazine Littéraire, Agefi, Agefi Hebdo, Actifs). FP est, quant lui, un holding déténu 100 % par la famille de François Pinault. Serendipity a des activités dans la fourniture de conseil et de services en matière de fusions et de rachats d'entreprises et dans l'investissement des entreprises de taille moyenne. Il ressort de l'enquête menée par la Commission que l'opération envisagée n'entravera pas de manière significative la concurrence dans le marché commun.
