The largest quantity of hallucinogenic "designer" drug 'ecstasy' ever in Greece was confiscated Thessaloniki, and two Dutch nationals were arrested, police said Tuesday.

They said 52,300 pills of the synthetic mood-enhancing "ecstasy" drug were found Monday night by Thessaloniki police in a truck en route from The Netherlands, during a search in the Posidonia region of the northern Greek capital.

Police said the truck's Dutch owner and driver were arrested, but declined to release the names or give further details.

The Thessaloniki security police were due to present details to the press later Tuesday.
