  • [01] Car-Free Day 2008

Public transport will be free for all commuters on Monday, as Greece takes part in the European Car-Free Day 2008.

A series of events is also scheduled throughout the country, including a main event in central Syntagma Square in Athens organized by the transport and communications ministry.

The purpose of the events is to brief the public and increase awareness on commuting on public transport as a way of contributing substantially to reducing atmospheric pollution and environmental protection.

The Syntagma events will wind up with a live concert by the group Alchimistes (Alchemists) in the evening.
