  • [01] Papandreou refers to positive White House talks

WASHINGTON (ANA-MPA) -- Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou expressed his satisfaction over the results of his meeting with US President Barack Obama at the White House on Tuesday afternoon, since not only did he find understanding regarding proposals on the joint handling of finance market profiteers, but secured the visa waiver for Greek citizens visiting the United States.

Speaking to reporters, Papandreou termed the visa waiver "a vote of confidence" to Greece and noted that the Greek government is determined to respond to its obligations and cooperate closely at international level on the tackling of terrorism.

[02] 'Med Diet' initiative by Koroni

(ANA-MPA) -- The noted harbour town of Koroni, in the southern Peloponnese's Messinia Prefecture, will represent Greece in an effort by four Mediterranean countries to have the so-called "Mediterranean Diet" recognised by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
