    Equity prices were declining at the opening of trade on Tuesday on the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), in the aftermath of a new downgrading of the Greek economy by Standard & Poor's, with the basic share price index down 0.55 percent, standing at 1,245.46 points at 11:15 am, and turnover at 23.753 million euros.

    Individual sector indices were moving downward nearly across the board, with the only gains in Oil & Gas, up 0.29 percent; and Personal Goods, up 0.10 percent.

    The biggest losses were in Travel & Recreation, down 1.69 percent; Health, down 1.48 percent; and Banks, down 0.81 percent.

    The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was down 0.76 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was down 0.90 percent, and the FTSE/ASE-80 small cap index was down 0.62 percent.

    Of the stocks traded, 16 were up, 36 were down, and 15 were unchanged.
