  • [01] Tsipras to participate in EU Commission candidates' debate on Thursday

    ANA- MPA --- A new debate among the candidates for the presidency of the European Commission has been scheduled for Thursday at 22.00 with the participation of Alexis Tsipras.

    Jean-Claude Juncker, candidate of the European People's Party, Martin Schulz, current President of the European Parliament and European Socialist candidate, Guy Verhofstadt, Liberal Democrats leader and a candidate of the same party, Ska Keller, candidate of the Green Party and Alexis Tsipras, SYRIZA leader and candidate of the Party of the European Left will participate.

    The debate, organized by the EBU, will last one hour and a half and will take place at the plenary chamber of the European Parliament in Brussels. There will be a simultaneous interpretation in the 23 official EU languages.

    The discussion will be moderated by Monica Maggioni, journalist and director of the Italian public channel RAI News24.

    The TV debate of the candidates for the European Commission presidency will be live on ANA-MPA's main website.

    The debate will be held at the European Parliament plenum hall in Brussels. It will start at 22:00 (Greek time)and will last 90 minutes.
