[01] Greek inflation rate at -0.2 pct in August
ANA/MPA---Greece recorded the third lowest negative inflation rate in
the European Union, with -0.2 pct in August, following Bulgaria (-1.1
pct) and Spain (-0.5 pct), Eurostat said on Wednesday.
In a report released here, the EU executive's statistics office said
that the inflation rate in the Eurozone was 0.4 pct in August, unchanged
from July, but down from an 1.3 pct rate in August 2013. In the EU, the
inflation rate was also unchanged at 0.5 pct in August from July, down
from an 1.5 pct figure in August last year. Estonia, Italy and Slovakia
also reported negative inflation rates in August, while Austria and the
UK recorded the highest inflation rates (1.5 pct each).
