"Our pride unites us as well as the responsibility of a great cultural heritage that does not exclusively belong to us any more but is the heritage of the whole mankind," the prime minister said. It is our responsibility to make use of our past for the benefit of the new generations, Tsipras noted and added: Due to its history, Greece is obliged to identify its presence with dialogue. During a press briefing, he said that the institutions will return on Monday with the view to concluding the second programme review as soon as possible. The negotiations will start on Tuesday and will last several days, Schinas noted. Regarding the data announced by Eurostat, he said that these correspond to a 4.2 pct of GDP primary surplus in 2016. "This figure exceeds significantly the target of the programme for a 0.5 pct of GDP primary surplus in 2016 and 3.5 pct of GDP in 2018. This also confirms the trend that the Commission acknowledged a long time ago," he added.
