The fire that broke out at 19:10 this afternoon in a forest area in
Patima, Brilissia was placed under control. Thirty fire fighters and 10
fire brigades shortly arrived in the area while 5 water bomber
air-crafts and two helicopters dropped water to extinguish the fire.
Strong fire fighting forces have remained in the area in the event of
fires rekindling. In an interview with NET, Brilissia mayor,
Konstantinos Ioannidis spoke of arsons. According to the Fire
Department , 51 fires of which 22 in Attika broke out nationwide from
06:00 to 18:00 today. All fires have been put under control expect for
one in Tzara, Preveza.
